Family Notification
The district will take the following steps to notify families in the event of a change to the school schedule:
Honeywell Instant Alert Messages are
delivered by way of a family’s main phone number on file with the
school district. The Honeywell system also allows for additional devices
(cell phone, work phone) to be added by a family to their account. In
order to receive the messages on these other devices, please visit the Honeywell Instant Alert page and review the instructions for adding devices and checking the accuracy of information already on file. It is highly recommended that families review their account before the winter season arrives.
Web posting
A banner will appear across the district’s website with information
regarding the situation. In the event of a delayed opening or early
dismissal, be sure to consult the website; additional details will be
posted here that are beyond the message scope of Honeywell. In the event
of a wide-spread emergency encompassing a large service area for
Honeywell, it is possible that voice and data messages could be delayed
in the company’s queue. Routinely checking the website is a good
practice during known emergencies.
Local media sources
The district will provide information to FIOS 1, News Channel 12 New Jersey, and Channel 2 News.
Social media Depending on the nature of the schedule change, the district may also post to Facebook and via Twitter.
