ColladoGRPS is thrilled to announce that Tomás Collado, a GRHS Class of 2021 graduate currently studying mechanical engineering at the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, has been awarded the esteemed title of 2024 Astronaut Scholar! This outstanding recognition celebrates Tomás’ dedication to STEM excellence.

The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF) has named 71 exceptional undergraduates from 48 universities across the United States as Astronaut Scholars for 2024. Each scholar will receive up to $15,000 to support their journey in science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Beyond financial support, they’ll gain access to invaluable networking opportunities, mentorship sessions with astronauts and industry leaders, and a chance to present their research at ASF’s Innovators Symposium & Gala.

Since its inception in 1986 to honor the Mercury 7 Astronauts, the ASF has awarded more than $9 million to support 800+ college students in STEM. Its legacy inspires ongoing efforts to empower future generations of STEM leaders through education and recognition. Join us in celebrating this incredible achievement and the bright future ahead for our GRHS graduate-turned-Astronaut Scholar, Tomás Collado ’21!
